    Is XHamster dying as a community?

    I am surely not alone in noticing many of those who were once regular visitors and contributors to this site have dropped away over the past couple of years. When I tried recently to set up another of my one-off galleries, like those I've run in the past to mark various public holidays, I was unable to make contact with a significant number of those who've appeared previously and no one else responded to the announcement.

    Perhaps the growth of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram et al means the end of XHamster. If so, I shall regret its passing, and that of the community I had hoped would continue to flourish.

    the old xhamster was simple and straightforward.  many including myself didn't appreciate the fact that we couldn't keep the version that we liked.  they forced the new xhamster upon us.  when you don't listen to your base then what kind of site are you?   those folks who upload and participate are the ones who make up xhamster.   w/o them this site would be all commercialization products and trolls.  massive deletions across videos and photos make this place much less desirable.  this is a downward trend that is not stopping anytime soon.   we have been taken for granted!!!

    I'm looking at this a year later.  I don't think it's dying it's still one of the most visited porn sites there is. But several good users have left because of trolls. I think it could take years and years and years. But if something is not done about the trolls running wild it could die.

    This is very comprehensive subject, the same crisis refers e.g. You Tube, where i am present from the very beginning of its existence. It's true that most people treats all these portals as a place where they can associate with others, if not then they withdraw. However, there is one major difference between YT, Facebook, Instagram, etc and places like xHamster, ie xHamster is strictly connected with sex and sex is something you cannot get rid off just because you can tell yourself - okay, it's something i don't need anymore..either you need sex, or not, tertium non datur. Of course, this what i said here, is merely a tip of the iceberg....

    The “new” Hamster has much to do with lack of interest.  The only good thing about it is the ability to categorize all your videos however you may wish.  I’ve got over 100 categories:  Nina Hartley, vintage, glory holes, Xev Bellringer, Syren de Mer, Deauxma, Twinks, Gays....on and on !  That aspect I truly love.  But much of it is awkward and cumbersome.  I’ve heard uploading is terrible.  I have a great friend who would upload many personal pix. No longer.  That’s a shame.  The old Hamster should still get support, but sadly, it doesn’t.  That’s my thoughts for the reason for the decline.

    Back in the day with my old profile, my videos would get Millions of Views, Photos as well.

    Now my videos get tens of thousands of views and photos only hundreds. 

    They can claim whatever they want about traffic, but we all see that it is dying.

    The "friends" I had a couple of years ago....some are here some are not but, always like making new Friends!!!!!

    "When I first arrived here there was an abundance of people that uploaded what I liked.
    "Many of the pic loaders left because they tired of having their galleries either down voted or deleted by XH. The vid loaders slowed and/or went private for many of the same reasons. Some of both have mentioned going to other sires but never said where they are.
    "I have been a lesbian fetishist for such a long time that there are few older vids that I haven't already see so I am limited to the friends that post new releases.
    "I have loaded so many galleries that I have become somewhat jaded in my search for what I want to share. Maybe I'm just getting old. haha

    I would second what drgoodhead has said. Life changes and people move on, but I do believe that the "new" Hamster has something to do with the speeding up of the process. At times it is not a friendly medium. That said rodent, I hope you remain here for some time to come.

    Old friends move away, but we make new friends.  Over half my number of "Subscriptions" have stopped posting.  (Heresy Alert!)  I suspect that after a while porn becomes boring and repetitive, and we have nothing original left to say.  There is also a great deal of frustration with the new Hamster.  And it is a World Cup summer.  Sometimes "life" gets in the way.  I truly believe the Hamster community is healthy and flourishing.  But it is definitely not stagnant.

    Half a century ago my grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles were all alive.  Today they are all gone, and I am the grandparent.  We have many new and wonderful people in my family, but we still need the same number of chairs around the dining room table as we needed 50 years ago.  I think the same thing is happening to Hamster.
